For our very first Fire Starter, I’d like to introduce you to…
Blacklist LA
I would like to recognize Blacklist LA for all that it has done in the Los Angeles community, the running community, and for individual runners, myself included.
August 2020 will be my six-year “runniversary” with Blacklist and it’s through them that I have discovered a great many things; with a whole different kind of love for the art of running being one of them. So it only seemed natural that since Blacklist has sparked a Fire within so many others, that they be our numero uno.
To really understand the magic that is Blacklist you have to run with them, however, I hopped onto their website and snatched some info for you to get at least the basics . . .
“To engage the Los Angeles community in exciting athletic events that foster movement, local discovery, cultural awareness, and civic Pride.”
Are you interested yet?… You should be.
The energy, inspiration, and fun that this running community will bring to you are beyond compare.
You will make new friends, and find a special kind of confidence that can only be found running with Blacklist.
You will push yourself, amaze yourself, have a good time, learn things, and grow.
I’ve found that there are very specific moments in life where everything comes together and it all suddenly feels right. THAT is what happens when you run with Blacklist.
Whether you had a bad day, a rough week, or need a little life pick-me-up, Blacklist has got you covered. From a code of conduct that includes things such as, “Safety first, Respect the hood, Positive vibes, Be a Tourist, and Pay it Forward”, to Rose Runs that spread love through the gifting of roses to strangers along the run route, cross training, their own officially sanctioned 5k race to celebrate the “Birthday” of Los Angeles, and so much more.
Whether it’s physical triumph or expanding the artistic mind, Blacklist LA is a thriving celebration of cultural enrichment.
